Short story "When Blood Wants Blood" resurrected for reprint at The Hallowzine #2!!!

September 22. 2021 - Received word today that one of the three short stories, "When Blood Wants Blood", will be reprinted in The Hallowzine's second issue, along with seven of my horror haikus in October. Thrilled to see that story making the rounds, again, though this will be its last run. Time to finally lay it to rest, along with "Roadkill" and "Windows". Many thanks to Laura and Lindsay for my second acceptance!

September 20, 2021 - Excited to report that one of my new poems, "The Alchemy of Fingertips", was accepted at Somos En Escrito Magazine for publication this month. It is a dear poem that is about the most important person to ever touch my life--my mom, who passed about a year ago. A link will be posted once the poem is live on the site. Many thanks to Senior Editor Scott Duncan-Fernandez and Somos En Escrito staff for the acceptance!

little punctures Coming Soon!!! Contract to Be Signed Soon!!!

September 15, 2021 - I am happy to announce that Luca Bowles (a.k.a. Mambo) and I have received the contract for little punctures, our illustrated book of micro poetry from Really Serious Literature (@rlysrslit) and we are in the process of getting that 'bad boy' signed and back into Barracuda's hands. This project, the sophomore effort since my first book of poetry and short fiction Indelible Fingerprints (Alien Buddha Press), has been years coming and-- thanks to @rlysrslit--will be a reality soon. Publication is scheduled for 2022.

Poems "Blood Honey", "Cough Syrup", "3 AM", and "Dopamine" to Be Published at Fugitives & Futurists!!!

September 14, 2021 - Truly honored to have four of my new poems, "Blood Honey", "Cough Syrup", "3 AM", and "Dopamine", accepted for publication at Fugitives & Futurists. They don't normally publish poetry, but this series that I submitted apparently made an impact. Founder & Contributing Editor Daniel Harlow commented on the series' "realness and beauty," further describing it as "delicate, sweet, thorned to the touch."

The poems will be scheduled to appear sometime mid/late October. They are sensual, dark, raw pieces that a handful of pubs have opted not to take. Glad F&F saw the vision behind them. Totally humbled by the nod. Many thanks to Daniel Harlow at F&F for accepting what are some of my favorite pieces...ever.

Poem "Pomegranates" to Be Featured at Poetishes!!

September 13, 2021 - Very happy to announce that one of my favorite new poems, "Pomegranates", will be featured at Poetishes (publication date TBD). This piece was originally published at Lothlorien Poetry Journal this month and it's one of the first ones to be written as part of Tupelo Press' 30/30 Project this past August 2021. There are about 7 or 8 poems in the collection that have a bucolic-themed vibe. This includes "Raspberry Bushes", which similarly has sensual (if not lustful) undertones. Definitely a piece I would like to see make its rounds for a long time to come. Update coming as soon as a reprint date is locked down.

Poems "Dandelion Wine" and "Life From a Garden Fence" accepted for publication at The Milk House!!!

September 6, 2021 - Great news this morning! Two new poems, "Dandelion Wine" and "Life From a Garden Fence" were accepted at The Milk House (a rural writing collective) for publication on October 7, 2021. Very pleased about these acceptances due to these poems being a few in a series of bucolic-themed pieces that I crafted during the Tupelo Press 30/30 Project. This is a departure from my normal subject matter, so it is quite pleasing to see that others appreciate the work. Many thanks to Founder Ryan Dennis for the acceptance! Truly honored.

Poems "Blue Light", "Street Flowers", and "Evening Machines" accepted for publication at Terror House Magazine!!!

September 1, 2021 - Great news this morning! Three new poems, "Blue Light", "Street Flowers", and "Evening Machines", will be published at Terror House Magazine on (or around) September 19, 2021. Many thanks to EIC Matt Forney for accepting the work and welcoming me back to where it all began, almost three years ago, with four poems: "Kiss Me, Again, Again, and Again," "Lithium," "Contentment," and "Gossip"(October 2018).

Poem "Frozen Charlotte" accepted for publication at Cajun Mutt Press!!!

August 31, 2021 - Very excited to have one of my new poems, "Frozen Charlotte", accepted at Cajun Mutt Press. It has been over a year since I have had anything published at my ol' stomping ground. Feels good to be back. Check out "Frozen Charlotte" on October 29, 2021. Went a bit dark on this one, but I quite like it. Many thanks to J.D.C.IV for the acceptance.

Poem "Sepscendence" accepted for publication at Alebrijes Review!!!

August 24, 2021 - Great news today! One of my brand new poems, "Sepscendence", was accepted for publication at Alebrijes Review in their inaugural issue. The theme for the first issue is "Fever Dream". Sepscendence is a play on the words sepsis and transcendence, highlighting some very interesting moments during a past hospitalization for pneumonia and sepsis, where I hallucinated the majority of the time I was admitted. Pretty sure I saw God...or something God-adjacent. Many thanks to EIC Ren Koppel Torres for the acceptance and honor.

Just a bit about Alebrijes Review...

Alebrijes Review is a new literary magazine that aims to celebrate Latinx poetry, short fiction, visual art, and music. Alebrijes Review was named after Pedro Linares' cartonería creations because our magazine is a home for the whimsical, the colorful, and the monstrous; because we love work that represents the complexity of our many cultures and experiences. Many people mistakenly believe that the Latino identity is a monolith, but we know better: we stand together because we are stronger as a whole, and we are united by a drive to create beauty in this world.
