Poem "Sepscendence" accepted for publication at Alebrijes Review!!!

August 24, 2021 - Great news today! One of my brand new poems, "Sepscendence", was accepted for publication at Alebrijes Review in their inaugural issue. The theme for the first issue is "Fever Dream". Sepscendence is a play on the words sepsis and transcendence, highlighting some very interesting moments during a past hospitalization for pneumonia and sepsis, where I hallucinated the majority of the time I was admitted. Pretty sure I saw God...or something God-adjacent. Many thanks to EIC Ren Koppel Torres for the acceptance and honor.

Just a bit about Alebrijes Review...

Alebrijes Review is a new literary magazine that aims to celebrate Latinx poetry, short fiction, visual art, and music. Alebrijes Review was named after Pedro Linares' cartonería creations because our magazine is a home for the whimsical, the colorful, and the monstrous; because we love work that represents the complexity of our many cultures and experiences. Many people mistakenly believe that the Latino identity is a monolith, but we know better: we stand together because we are stronger as a whole, and we are united by a drive to create beauty in this world.
